ENSEMBLE OFFSPRING 2025 SEASON

March 8 - November 22, 2025

Sydney | Eora, Regional NSW,

In our 30th anniversary season of groundbreaking new music we’re celebrating our beginnings – imaginative, resourceful and more than a bit audacious – while looking, as always, to the future. Our distinctive line-up is often referred to as a ‘Pierrot ensemble’ and Arnold Schoenberg’s Pierrot lunaire – perhaps the closest new music has to a ‘classic’ – has provided an anchor for our 2025 programming. Around this, we’ve curated a series of concerts that bring together powerful and joyful experiences: music that we’re excited to perform and share with you....

Sun 02 Jun 2024 2:30pm

Melbourne Recital Centre

Blazing Trails

Claire is the soloist with MCO for Natalie Williams’ percussion concerto Steeling Fire. The work pays homage to the women who fought for the right to work at the Port Kembla Steelworks in Wollongong in 1980, and features an arsenal of metallic sounds, some of which were sourced from the Steelworks. An effervescent Vivaldi concerto, written originally for the young recorder players at the orphanage in Venice where he taught, will be revealed anew on the vibraphone.
